We’ve heard that Fairphone is working on a new device and we now have out first look at it alongside its key specs. Twitter user @L4yzRw spotted the yet to be announced Fairphone 4 5G on a Swiss online retailer’s website complete with pricing and detailed images. The device will bring a revised look compared to its predecessor with a larger 6.3-inch display and a waterdrop notch cutout.

The listing specifies this is a 5G phone but there are no further details on the chipset of choice. The phone will be available in 128 and 256GB storage trims with 6GB RAM in both cases. We can also see a triple camera setup on the back with a 48MP main shooter.

The device is shown in green and grey colors. Pricing for the 256GB storage Fairphone 4 5G is listed at CHF 638 which equals out to €590. The signature characteristics of Fairphones are their easy reparability and modularity though we are not given any details of how the new model will fare in these departments. Fairphone is also known to source materials for its devices in a sustainable way with minimal impact on the environment.
I'm out already, this thing either needs to be really cheap, or compete with other phones.
This might be my next phone if hmd does not set itself to build smaller phones, maximum 15cm tall. We have no complexes here.
