At the end of March you could have bought the new Samsung Galaxy A55 and gotten the new Galaxy Buds FE at 50% off. Now you can double the discount and get the buds for free. The phone’s price is still holding steady for now, but it hasn’t been that long since it first launched.

And if the A55 is outside your budget, the Galaxy 35 also comes with a free pair of Galaxy Buds FE. This year the two models are the same size (with a 6.6” 120Hz FHD+ OLED display), but the A55 has the more premium build (metal chassis instead of plastic) and the better chipset (Exynos 1480 with AMD graphics vs. Exynos 1380). There are a few other differences, but the Galaxy A35 is £100 cheaper than its sibling, so it’s up to you whether the savings are worth it.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is still fairly new too, so there are no great discounts for the new trio. However, the S23 series also received the fancy new AI features and while the support window is smaller (3 OS updates and 4 years of patches left to go), the prices are noticeably lower.

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ (8/256GB) can be had for £750, while the S24+ (12/256GB) is £1,000. Note that if you have an Amazon Prime Student membership, you can get a further 10% off.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra still has a highly capable camera, even a year later (more capable than the S24+ certainly). You can have a 12/512GB unit for £1,100 compared to £1,350 for an S24 Ultra with the same memory configuration. And the same 10% discount for Amazon Prime Student members applies here too.

Last week we mentioned the Honor 90 Lite and Honor Pad X8. We’ll briefly mention them again as they are now £10 cheaper than they were a week ago. It doesn’t sound like much, but these are already quite cheap – the Honor 90 Lite is a sub-£200 5G phone with a 100MP camera and a 6.7” 90Hz IPS LCD, the Pad X8 is a 10.1” tablet with a 1,920 x 1,200px LCD.

Going above £200, we find the Poco X6. This phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and features a premium 6.67” 12-bit 120Hz OLED with 1,220 x 2,712px resolution and Dolby Vision. The chipset is paired with plenty of RAM (12GB) and 256GB storage (non-expandable).

If we go up to the £300+ tier, the Poco X6 Pro is also an option. This one has the faster Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, but is otherwise mostly identical to its vanilla sibling. Note that part of the price increase is the upgrade to 512GB storage.

When is Asus going to release a small Zenfone 11? The company is keeping quiet on the subject. You can have the Zenfone 10 for £600, though (8/256GB configuration). The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is fast even by 2024 standards and there aren’t many small Android flagships to choose from. The biggest hurdle to recommending this one is Asus’ poor update policy – it only promised 2 OS updates and one already happened. At least the company committed to 4 years of security patches, i.e. until 2027.

Poco X6 Pro is the only one with checking out, if not buying right away. A35 and A55 gets bullied by Poco X6 Pro. Software and cameras is a toss up so it's up to you. S23 Ultra can be found used on some markets for as cheap as 700 pounds, I...

Samsung has changed its marketing strategy, it was bad but now it has worsened more. Samsung is not giving buds offer in Asian countries. Moreover A55 and A35 are priced on much higher side.
