Perhaps this text may be lengthy, but I promise you will benefit from several insights as I am an expert in various technological issues.The reason for BlackBerry's cessation of phone manufacturing primarily stems from intense pressure from governments. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested the founder and CEO of the Canadian company "Phantom Secure" after modifying BlackBerry phones to make them untraceable by security devices. This involved removing cameras, disabling GPS tracking, and installing encryption software, selling them to criminal gangs and unlawful actors worldwide, turning these phones into safe havens for criminal activities.Being from Algeria, I can say that acquiring BlackBerry phones at one point was akin to searching for forbidden items, and smugglers used devices like the "Thuraya" and BlackBerry for dangerous operations.On the other hand, manufacturers of Android devices often prioritize their devices over user privacy, fighting for their brand reputation like Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus. In contrast, BlackBerry prioritizes customer satisfaction, understanding that the customer is king. They strive to provide the highest levels of data protection, unlike Android devices that may spy on user data, willing to sell personal information to advertising companies like Facebook, YouTube, Google, and Amazon. Moreover, users can be seen as sacrificial lambs when intelligence agencies demand information for specific groups or individuals, with information sold to security agencies for thousands of dollars.I tried to understand why BlackBerry failed despite adopting Android 4.3 in BlackBerry devices before its demise. Android was created within a Virtual program, yet the phone remained secure until its downfall when OS was abandoned in favor of Android 7 in the Key version. Here lies the vulnerability. Some argue BlackBerry's failure was due to not abandoning the keyboard, but why did Linux, Chrome, and Windows laptops thrive, with sales skyrocketing? These systems could easily be converted into large tablet devices, whereas laptops have integrated touchscreens. What about smartphones like Sharp, LG, and Motorola, struggling lately? What about the hundreds of brands that have vanished without a trace? Nokia continues to manufacture small phones like the 3310, still witnessing respectable sales.These were some insights, and there is much more, but this should suffice for now. Let's now discuss the BlackBerry Q10.The phone features a physical keyboard. If you don't like it, can you type on an Android keyboard without seeing the keys for each letter you type? With the BlackBerry Q10, you can type without seeing the keys.We can download Google Chrome, open the Facebook browser inside it, or watch YouTube. However, it's better to have a secondary Android device for entertainment purposes like gaming, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter.On the other hand, the BlackBerry Q10 allows me to store MP3 files, listen to the radio, record lectures, edit text notes, prepare business tasks, calendar lists, use the calculator, read e-books, store sensitive passwords, make and receive calls, write messages, read and respond to email. Yes, I successfully integrated Gmail into Hub, requiring you to modify some Gmail mail options. I can explain more to those interested.The reason you rely on it as a primary device is that you won't have to fear losing your Android phone. It will stay at home, and you won't encounter legal troubles like photography, problems with security authorities, or theft threats. Additionally, you'll preserve the battery life of your Android phone.I hope this information suffices. There's more to discuss, but I'll return later, God willing.
This was my first Blackberry phone! It made me wish I'd gotten a BB earlier than 2014--but hey, better late than never...
I loved the phone so much that I turned it into an mp3 player after I upgraded to a BB Classic for its bigger screen size. I just couldn't stop using it!
The only reason why I switched is that I found reading on such a small screen was difficult--and that's what I did a lot of on my hour commute to... and then from... work.
I felt the BB OS was superior to modern Android phones--at least for me. The BB OS was straight forward and simple, and it didn't feel like your phone was spying on you with every keystroke or eye movement. Apps were also simple and exactly what you needed AS A PROFESSIONAL. No silly games or social media updates and distractions.
This was a phone for AN ADULT.
