Best speakers

Introduction

With 2025 behind us, it's a great time to go through all the phones we've tested this year and round up the ones with the best speakers. We've also shortlisted the tablets with the best-sounding speakers too.

We pulled out the data from the 113 reviews we produced in 2025 and listened to the speaker recording of each and every device. We shortlisted the best-sounding ones in several different categories because sound quality is greatly influenced by size, form factor and even the price segment, so it's important to compare apples to apples.

Table of Contents:

  • Foldables
  • Midrangers
  • Compact flagships
  • Flagships
  • Tablets

Keep in mind that you won't find all the phones we tested on the following pages. We've shortlisted the best ones, so you don't have to dig through all of them as we did. You can always use the interactive properties of the widgets to add or remove phone models that are of interest to you, so you can listen to how they compare.

We strongly recommend using a nice pair of headphones and turning the volume up when listening to the test recordings. You can learn more about the test specifics here.

Now, let's begin with the foldables.

The top speakers among foldables

We traditionally consider all foldables as a category together, but between the two established form factors, each gets its separate winner.

Among all the book-style foldables we reviewed in 2025, our top pick for speaker quality is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7. An honorable mention goes to the Honor Magic V5. We had a really hard time choosing between the two despite their quite different sound profiles. The Galaxy Z Fold7 won this one for its slightly more balanced output and the hint of low-end thump that the Honor lacked.

As for the flip-style foldables, our top pick for speaker quality among all the phones we reviewed in 2025 is the US-only Motorola Razr+ 2025. Some of the other clamshell Razrs we reviewed came close but not quite at the same level. An honorable mention goes to the globally available Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7. And, honestly, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE was not far behind.

The exhaustive list of devices considered for this category includes Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, vivo X Fold5, Honor Magic V5, Huawei Mate X7, Oppo Find N5, Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, Motorola Razr 2025/Razr 60, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, Honor Magic V Flip 2, and the Motorola Razr+ 2025.

Nope. Not true. You're talking to an actual LG G8x owner as opposed to a dude who's all that on the internet. I actually felt the detail and depth in the audio as long as I paired it with the right earphones/headphones. Downloading FLACs ...

LGs audio quality was overtuned garbage. The only people that bought into it are spec-tards that have no idea what they should be listening for and only download flac files from random sources and parrot the same psuedo-"audiophile" 2010 ta...

Yes, of course, these are Bluetooth codecs and I heard of them a few years back. The thing is, I'd have to shift my entire ecosystem to it if I'm to enjoy lossless audio. Firstly, I'll need a phone which has this, which I alread...
