I ve been using it as a portable wifi hotspot, but now it just stop working, no light, no charge.
i am considering repair or buy an used, Can you plz tell me if the wifi hotspot feature can transmit 5Ghz ?

In 2023 it still operates quite smoothly with Superior OS (custom ROM). Photos are good with GCAM, and video is possible to get maximum quality with mcpro24fps software (by disabling noise reduction and using higher bitrate as possible until the CPU starts dropping frames)

One of the best (and last one) smartphones with true 100% flicker free IPS display (easy on eyes, does not cause eyestrain and headaches as modern smartphones do with its ugly OLED technology).
Newer models of Zenfone (even those old ones, that were build on IPS) started to use PWM to dim screen.
For example:
Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL/ZE50KL) PWM = 0 Hz on any screen brightness (this is true flicker free, great display)
Zenfone 4 (ZE554KL) PWM = 11360 Hz ≤ 35 % brightness (as you see, IPS also can use PWM, not only OLED)
Zenfone 5 (ZE620KL) PWM = 2336 Hz ≤ 26 % brightness (very beautiful display in terms of colors, also more easy on eyes, than modern OLED with low freq PWM, but not as good, as Zenfone 3, if you read something from screen for extended period of time)

This phone served as my backup phone since 2020. Works super fine, especially with LineageOS 16 installed.

it's a great phone. It is still at home, it does not run many current applications due to lack of android version, but it is still fast. I bought it in 2016.

Stili using ZenFone 3 at 2022. Everything is fine except few apps don't work but doesn't matter for me. This phone is very tough. World like to know if the security is save without any update? Thanks.

Same Here. I am sorry have to retire this excellent Asus Zenfone 3. I am probably going to get Zenfone 8.

Probably the best price-performance phone I bought in 2016 at an affordable price. Some models of products may vary according to countries and regions. It has some features that will succumb to time like ordinary and others. Camera, memory, processor, android version and aluminum body. Many phones that are considered the best at the moment will not be accepted in the future for these reasons. However, I can list a few reasons that make Asus special for me. It won my heart with several creative modes. For example, when the screen is off, I draw letters such as v, z, c on the screen and pre-assigned applications open without any action. Although it cannot improve itself as much as Apple, many security protective measures are available on the phone. I made this comment a little long, but anyone who has a question can of course ask.

Bought in 2017 and i still love it! Got some issues with camera focus, and mini jack is not working anymore. But still i would buy it again!

An excellent and durable phone. Purchased this phone in December 2016 and it is still running admirably on Android 8. Battery can still hold charge for 2 days on limited use and as a golfer, I can still use the GPS golf apps to record 2 complete rounds on the same day...the GPS apps on most older phones I found drained the battery much quicker

Bought the phone in Sept 2016. The phone had fell hard and plunged into water about a sec several times, still works really well. It only has one mark at the back corner due to a big fall. One of my best purchase so far.
