The ROG Phone 7 series by Asus is on its way, and the official launch is scheduled for April 13. Two weeks before the unveiling the phones appeared on the National Communications Commission of Taiwan's website.
Two phones appeared, both of them with an appearance similar to the Phone 6 lineup - one with a small display on the back, likely the Pro, and another without it.
One of the battery cells was also certified with 3,000 mAh capacity, meaning the total should be 6,000 mAh with dual cells that allow for faster charging. Speaking of charging, an adapter was also pictured, visibly offering 65W rates (20V at 3.25A). The phones will also have a protective case that highlights the design on the back, and an Aero Active Cooler was also certified.
The ROG Phone 7 and Phone 7 Pro will arrive as a mild improvement over the predecessors. Changes are likely to be a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and Android 13 out of the box, while the display is likely to remain the 6.78” AMOLED with 165Hz refresh rate.
The cameras may or may not be changed but what is more important is what kind of cooling and performance upgrades Asus is bringing to these new phones.
Yeah, well if they up the price to $1800+US then I will definitely pass and stay with my 5. Paying that kind of premium for any phone is absurd but as long as there are people willing to pay, these progressively jacked up prices will continue.
