ASUS has finally announced the launch date for the ROG Ally handheld gaming console. The device will launch officially on Wednesday, July 12 and will be available through ASUS Exclusive Stores, ASUS EShop, and Flipkart.
Aside from that, Flipkart will also be hosting an exclusive flash sale for the device on Friday, July 7 for one day only.
The ROG Ally is a handheld gaming console based on the Windows platform. It features the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with an 8-core Zen4 CPU and 12CU Radeon RDNA 3 GPU with an adjustable power limit of 9-30W.
The console also features a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz VRR display, 16GB LPDDR5 memory, 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 storage with microSD expansion, stereo speakers, wireless connectivity, and a 40Wh battery.
The device is priced at INR 69,990. Only one variant with the Z1 Extreme processor will be sold at launch. The first 200 customers who purchase on launch day from ASUS EShop or ASUS Stores will also receive a complimentary ROG Ally case.
Its more expensive than a Xbox1, PS5 or a basic gaming PC, while being lower powered than all of these. Will it succeed this way?
