The Apple Watch Series 9, expected to go official next month, will be "basically unchanged" compared to its predecessor Watch Series 8, claimed Weibo user Instant Digital, corroborating previous reports of the Watch Series 9 being a minor upgrade over the Series 8.
The Watch Series 9 will be the Watch Series 8 with a different chip at the helm, bringing performance and efficiency improvements to the smartwatch. A few months ago, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claimed the Watch Series 9 would be powered by a new chip based on Apple's A15 SoC first used in the iPhone 13 models.
In addition to a new chip, the Apple Watch Series 9's aluminum version is rumored to get a new pink color, with the lineup coming in a retail box more compact than the Series 8 models.
