I’m not sure if it’s worse for the battery health or not but I want the fastest possible charging so I just bought the Apple 20W USB‑C Power Adapter and I’m gonna get either the 6ft Anker 641 or 762 cable.

If I want the fastest possible charging speed for my 8 Plus then I believe I’d need an 18W (or greater) USB-C charger and to connect to a USB-C PD port rather than USB-A but I’m not sure if it’d definitely charge faster than in my 12W USB-A port. It says on here that 15W is the max so I guess it could potentially charge 3W faster. Who knows?

I charge my 8 Plus at 2.4A/12W now because 1A/5W is just too slow. It might not even be less healthy for the battery to fast charge it.
I still try to stop charging before it reaches 90% as I believe that helps (there was a study done on this). Ideally I’d also put it on charge before it gets down to 40% but that doesn’t often happen.
I’ve been using this phone for over 3.5 years now and the Maximum Capacity is now down to 84%. I wonder how this compares with others.

Mommyworld27, 20 Oct 2024So it's true that we no longer be able to use whatsapp on iphone 8plus?Starting May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer support iPhones running iOS versions older than 15.1, meaning the iPhone 5s, 6, and 6 Plus will no longer be able to use the app.
So currently it is working on iPhone 8 Plus and I am using it without any issue.

I upgraded from the iPhone 6s to the iPhone 8+, though I gave respect to my old iPhone 6s for its balanced colors rather than the iPhone 8plus, which is a bit darker in color balance.

I am (so is my mum) and I may still be for years to come. We’ll see.
The 8 Plus is a good phone. I did my research before buying it, back in the second half of 2021.
The 6 Plus I had before was a good phone too but I filled up the 16 GB storage and damaged a corner badly from a drop. The phone was given to me for free and it was my first iPhone.

Apple should make a new iPhone that’s full-screen (by using an under-display camera) and they should also add Touch ID under-display or to the power button or to the back of the phone. Other phones have these features. Come on Apple, you can do it!

If you have the app (e.g. Netflix) installed before it requires iOS 17.0 or later then you can keep using the older version. I had Netflix installed before so I can continue to use it but I don’t really use it anyway.

Batina, 02 Nov 2024Is it still okey for 2024? For like basic usage like whapp, insta.... simple actions?It’s fine to use in 2024 especially if you’re just doing basic stuff. It’s currently my (and my mum’s) only phone and we both agree that it’s a nice full-screen phone. The only potential problem I see is that over time, more and more apps will start requiring iOS 17.0 or later (like Netflix now) so unless you jailbreak and install the later iOS versions, you won’t be able to install or update those apps.
