this is a good budget phone for me. i got it for £45 from cex and is perfectly good for that price. storage isnt the best but the micro sd card slot helps the storage a lot. Can play some games and watches videos fine so great value for money. Camera is pretty good, looks better than a lot of laptop webcams and can take some nice photos

Alcatel is just a brand name. Owner is TCL and they continue to make a same "quality" phones under TCL name.

In early 2000s with the rise of Korean's Samsung and LG, then merger of Sony Ericsson, they are among the fastest fallen, might be the same period as Siemen. Still, they never take lead as Nokia and Motorola, they are among the earliest minority. When Android smartphone arrive, they take part in it, but just like any Android smartphone brand, competition is very stiff, and many quit much earlier.
