A whopping billion hours of YouTube content is being consumed each day
YouTube is undoubtedly one of the most popular online video services available today. But just how popular is it? Well, here's a number that should give you an idea: we are consuming a whopping billion hours of YouTube content each day.
To put that figure into perspective, "If you were to sit and watch a billion hours of YouTube, it would take you over 100,000 years," the company said in a blog post. "If you spent 100,000 years traveling at the speed of light, you could travel from one end of the Milky Way to the other."
YouTube was recently in the headlines after Google announced that it's planning to do away with the 30-second mandatory ad format. Perhaps, the company should also disclose how much of those 'one billion' hours are advertisements (:p).

It's not a billion, but a thousand million hours, and that is about 114000 years.
